چکیده
Drinking water quality with respect to fluoride, iron, and nitrate content has been carried out in Kamrup district of Assam, India. Forty six different sampling stations were selected for the study. Iron was analyzed by using an atomic absorption spectrometer, Perkin Elmer AA 200, while fluoride was measured by the SPADNS method at 570nm and Nitrate content was measured by the phenol-disulphonic acid method at 410nm using a UV–VIS spectrometer, Shimadzu 1240 model. The study revealed that the water sources in the area are heavily polluted with iron, and fluoride. Statistical analysis of the data is presented to determine the distribution pattern, localization of data and other related information. Statistical observations imply nonuniform distribution of the studied parameters with a long asymmetric tail either on the right or left side of the median.

Fluoride geochemistry of groundwater in parts of Brahmaputra flood plain in Kamrup district, Assam, India
Groundwater contamination by fluoride (F) can result from the natural dissolution of minerals from subterranean strata. These inorganic contaminant in drinking water is known to cause serious health problems when the maximum contaminant levels (MCL) exceed 1.5 mg/L. The aim of this study was to correlate the high fluoride content in the groundwater of the region to the geochemistry of the water...
متن کاملA Regression-Based Analysis to Assess the Impact of Fluoride Reach River Water on the Groundwater Aquifer Adjacent to the River: A Case Study in Bharalu River Basin of Guwahati, India
Fluoride is one of the parameters which is non-degradable and naturally occurring inorganic anion found in many natural streams, lakes, and groundwater. Serious problems are faced in several parts of India due to the high consumption of fluoride through drinking water. These may cause dental and skeletal fluorosis to humans. This study aims to examine the level of fluoride in both Bharalu river...
